Since our incorporation in 2011, Polymer Link has steadily grown from a single manufacturing operation in Malaysia to a regional and international manufacturer and distributor of plastic powder. From toll manufacturing beginnings to establishing production facilities in the Philippines and India, and expanding into key markets including the USA and Australia, our journey has been defined by strategic foresight and operational excellence. With a continued focus on innovation, customer engagement, and sustainable practices, we remain committed to delivering high-quality solutions for general and specialty applications across the globe.
Our Milestone
2011
Polymer Link Malaysia was incorporated in Malaysia in September 2011 and commenced business operations in December 2014 as a manufacturer of plastic powder on a tolling basis.
2013
Polymer Link Holdings was incorporated in Malaysia in April 2013 and commenced operations in December 2017 as an investment holding company.
2014
We commenced business operations in December 2014 in the manufacturing of plastic powder on a tolling basis for a customer in Malaysia, where the input materials (namely plastic resins) were provided by the customer. We were operating at our Former Malaysia Factory which were rented premises.
2015
We served our first customer outside of Malaysia, namely Outback Philippines in the Philippines, when Polymer Link Malaysia started supplying manufactured plastic powder general applications to them.
2016
As part of our management’s strategy, we expanded our manufacturing operations to the Philippines where we incorporated Polymer Link Philippines in April 2016. We commenced the construction of the PhilippinesFactory in the province of Pampanga in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines in May 2016 which was subsequently completed in February 2017. We established our Philippines Factory to have a manufacturing facility close to Outback Philippines to facilitate customer engagement and deliveries of manufactured plastic powder, and also to provide a backup manufacturing facility for our Group.
2017
Our Philippines Factory became operational and we commenced the manufacture of plastic powder in April 2017.
2018
Polymer Link Engineering was incorporated in Malaysia in April 2018 and commenced business in the trading of equipment and products in June 2018. We mainly traded in air compressors and lubricants.
Polymer Link Holdings was listed on the LEAP Market of Bursa Securities in April 2018.
Maqqo Philippines was incorporated in in the Philippines in December 2018 and commenced business operations in April 2019 in the trading of equipment and products. Similarly, Maqqo Philippines mainly traded in air compressors and lubricants.
2019
Through Polymer Link Malaysia, we acquired a piece of land with land area of approximately 214,998 sq ft in Port Klang in Selangor, Malaysia in September 2019. To expand our business operations in Malaysia, we commenced the construction of Phase 1 of our Malaysia Factory on this land in July 2020 and completed construction works in July 2021. We subsequently terminated our tenancy agreement for the Former Malaysia Factory, relocated our plastic powder manufacturing machinery and equipment and commenced our manufacturing plastic powder business activity at the Phase 1 building of our Malaysia Factory in August 2021.
We made our first sale to a customer in Poland in July 2019,Promens Miedzyrzecz Sp. Z.O.O. (now known as Rotovia Miedzyrzecz Sp. Z.O.O.), which comprised manufactured plastic powder for general applications through Polymer Link Philippines.
2020
We expanded our operations to India and incorporated Polymer Link India in January 2020 which commenced business operations in September 2020. Polymer Link India is involved in the manufacturing of plastic powder in Daman, India through our India Factory, which is on rented premises. Polymer Link India made its first sale in 2020, which comprised manufactured plastic powder for specialty applications to the OK Play Group in India.
In December 2020, Polymer Link Holdings was voluntarily delisted from the LEAP Market of Bursa Securities.
2021
Polymer Link Color & Additives was incorporated in Malaysia in October 2021 and commenced business in the manufacturing of masterbatch in 2022.
We made our first sales to a customer in USA in August 2021 comprising manufactured plastic powder for specialty applications to Akro Plastics, Inc.
2022
We started manufacturing our masterbatch for in-house use in October 2022 and for sale to third-party customers in November 2022.
2023
We acquired Polymer Link USA in December 2023 and the company commenced business operations in the marketing and supply of plastic powder in January 2024.
We made our first sale to a customer in Australia in April 2023 comprising manufactured plastic powder for general and specialty applications.
As part of our plans to expand our facilities, in November 2023 we commenced construction on a new single-storey warehouse and factory as well as a double-storey office building (Phase 2) with built-up area of approximately 64,777.2 sq ft on vacant land that is part of our current Malaysia Factory. As at the LPD, the construction has been completed and is pending issuance of the CCC, which is expected by the third quarter of 2025.
2024
We further expanded our business operations to Australia with the acquisition of Polymer Link Australia in March 2024(5), following which it made its first sale in April 2024 in the marketing and supply of plastic powder.
In August 2024, we engaged a solar photovoltaic (PV) system solutions provider to design, supply and install a solar PV system on the rooftop of the Phase 1 building of our Malaysia Factory. The solar PV system will have an installed capacity of 947.1 kilowatt peak and is expected to become operational in the second quarter of 2025.
